“Aomori-Hiba cedar” the strong and beautiful Japanese treasure
Aomori-Hiba cedar is Japanese characteristic wild wood, and its 80 % grows in Aomori. Aomori-Hiba
cedar, the valuable wood which grows in very cold climate, takes 300 to 600 years to grown up. This
growing period is 5 to 6 times longer than other woods just like other kinds of cedars.
The golden close beautiful bark of Hiba cedar is called “Goldenwood”, and used to build many
shrines, temples and houses of prestigious family.
